Start a Chapter!
Thank you for expressing interest in starting a chapter at your school, community or region. We're excited to help expand to impact more students around the world! Below we've included a guide to help you with the process of starting a chapter -- we've summarized it into 3 quick and easy steps. Please make sure you reach out to empowerherfinance8@gmail.com with any questions at all!

*Review the guidelines required to start a chapter if you're doing it at your school (i.e. contacting advisors, administration, etc). Make sure you're following the rules regarding clubs!

PART I: REGISTRATION
1) Fill out the chapter registration form by clicking this button:

2) Meet with our founder Ananya Akkaraju and our chapter outreach team (they will send you an email regarding a meeting time).

PART II: RESOURCES & MATERIALS
1) Make sure you've saved the link to the Google Drive folder in a place that easily accessible. Once you make the Google account for the chapter (detailed below), you'll be sharing it with that email and all the personal emails of your officer team once you hire them.

2) Once you've discussed everything that needs to be done to start a chapter at the meeting, please start making your Instagram account and posts, following the steps below.

PART III: SOCIALS
1) Create a Google Account and make an email for your chapter, using these instructions here.

2) Create an Instagram account for your chapter, using these instructions here.

3) You're ready to start posting! We recommend using Canva and it's templates to make the posts for finding your officers, monthly events, and more.

PART IV: FIRST POSTS
As chapter president, you'll have to make the first two posts for your Instagram (the "About Us" post and the "Hiring" post) as you are yet to have an officer team at that point in time. Once you get your team, you will have a marketing officer who will be in charge of all social media posts from then onwards.
Your first post will be an "About Us" post specific to your chapter. All posts will be done through Canva.

1) Create the "About Us" post using Canva (create the Canva account with the chapter email). Here is a link to an example Canva post. Make sure to add the image of your chapter logo and change the colors accordingly! All the information and layout can stay the same. Here is a link to an example caption you can include. Don't leave out the hashtags at the bottom -- this is how you'll up your marketing and use the algorithm to reach a larger audience.

3) Create the "We're Hiring" post. Here is a link to an example. Like before, make sure to add the chapter logo as an image and change the colors accordingly. Here is a link to a template for the caption.

You're ready with your first chapter! As applications for officers start coming in, keep Ananya and Roma updated with any developments or questions you may have. We're here to help you!
